The event supports community organizations providing services to those with mental illness. We are getting bigger every year! We set our record with 443 registered participants in 2011. We have helped six different community organization and have grants available for six more this year. We are growing in partnerships, information sharing, and volunteer involvement. Come join us for the fun!
Highlights of this year’s main Labor Day event will include:
- An excellent urban/rural course visting some of our beneficiaries and local mental health resources in the KC metro area.
- An up/down auction fundraising activity to be held at the beginning of the ride.
- Other activities include a Recovery Information Exchange event where local organizations can share information about mental health topics. Click here for more information: Bring Your Own Table:
- The regular cycling courses of 3, 10, 33, 55, and 72 miles with registration at 7:00 a.m.and start time of 8:00 a.m.
- For non-riders, there will be a non-competitive and untimed 5K fun run/walk named “Run 4 Recovery.” at 8:00 a.m.
- For those participants arriving later, we have included a one-mile walk which will start at 10:00 A.M.
- The annual B4B Tricycle Challenge, which is always a hit, starts at 10:30 A.M. Adults who donate $100 will pit their child-size tricycle racing skills against one another for a great laugh. Children can race the course at 11:00 A.M.!
